Units & Services

Unless otherwise indicated, GCRC investigators at both the UW and CHRMC are eligible to receive any of the services listed below. Many services are available free of charge to your subjects and your grant if your protocol qualifies as a Category A study. If you are preparing an application to use any of the services described below, make sure to let us know how we can help you.

  1. Clinic space where you can see your outpatient volunteers at no charge to them or your grant
  2. Inpatient unit where your inpatient volunteers can be hospitalized overnight or for prolonged stays at no charge to them or your grant
  3. Nursing staff trained in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and expert in implementing research protocols
    • Patient assessment and ability to perform questionnaires
    • Specimen collection and processing
    • Variety of procedures
    • Assistance with documentation
    • Development of orders for all your protocols
  4. Routine supplies are provided at no charge, e.g. blood draw materials, laboratory tubes for blood assessments, short-term storage of specimens in the specimen laboratory, urine dip sticks for routine analysis and pregnancy
