Copy-Paste Template — Letter of Support from the GCRC

Our productivity is measured in part by the number of publications arising from studies that use GCRC resources. If your study is supported by the GCRC, we rely on you to cite our grant in your publications. Don't forget to send us a reprint too! (via email or campus mail, Box 356178). Thank you!

Many grants require a letter of support attesting to the availability of GCRC resources. Please edit and personalize the following draft for your project and submit it to us at gcrc@u.washington.edu. Remember to provide your return address, the title of your grant application, your grant submission deadline, and information about where to send the letter signed by our Program Director (or let us know how to contact you when the letter is ready for pick-up in our office, UWMC Room SS732).

Dear Dr. ___________ :

I am pleased to write this letter in support of your project, _____________________________. The Clinical Research Center (CRC) at the University of Washington is part of the Institute for Translational Health Sciences (ITHS) that is funded by a NIH CTSA award to provide clinical research resources for investigators, promote interaction among faculty members from various disciplines, and provide training opportunities.

Should this project be funded, we could support this research by providing outpatient examination rooms, inpatient beds, biostatistical and research subject advocate consultation, and assistance from research nurses on aspects of your study. The CTSA award mandates that the ITHS share the cost of services with investigators. Consequently, a cost estimate has been provided to you for inclusion in your study budget.

The use of the CRC requires approval by the Human Subjects Review Committee, the ITHS Center for Scientific Review and a unit specific resource allocation evaluation.

We look forward to collaborating with you on this research.

Sincerely,

Mary L. (Nora) Disis
Professor of Medicine
Associate Dean of Translational Health Sciences
