Copy-Paste Template — Pediatric CRC Letter of Support Template
Our productivity is measured in part by the number of publications arising from studies that
use GCRC resources. If your study is supported by the GCRC, we rely on you to
cite our grant in your publications. Don't forget to send
us a reprint too! (via email
or campus mail, Box 356178). Thank you!
Many grants require a letter of support attesting to the availability of Pediatric CRC
resources. Please edit and personalize the following draft for your project and submit
it to us at PediatricCRC@seattlechildrens.org.
Remember to provide your return address, the title of your grant application, your grant
submission deadline, and information about where to send the letter signed by our Associate
Program Director for Pediatrics (or let us know how to contact you when the letter is ready
for pick-up in our office, CHRMC W-7871).
Dear Dr. ________ :
I am pleased to write this letter in support of your project, "________________." The
Pediatric Clinical Research Center (PCRC) at Children's Hospital and Regional Medical
Center is a satellite of the General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) at the University
of Washington, an NIH-funded facility. The purpose of the GCRC is to provide clinical
research infrastructure and resources for investigators, promote interaction among faculty
members from various disciplines, and provide training opportunities.
Should this project be funded, we would be available to support this research by providing
outpatient examination rooms, inpatient scatter beds, biostatistical and research subject
advocate consultation, research nurses (PALS certified) to perform clinical assessments
(including blood pressure and anthropometric measurements), monitor vital signs, and
obtain, process and store specimens. Some monies may also be available to assist with
the costs of some laboratory tests or other tests done for research purposes.
As Program co-Director of the PCRC, I am writing to endorse these research activities and
to indicate that the CRC will be available to carry out this study. The use of the CRC
requires approval by the Human Subjects Review Committee, and the Scientific Advisory
Committee.
We look forward to collaborating with you on this research.
Sincerely,
